1. Metal braces
These are the most common types of braces used for children today. They are the lowest in cost and are available from any orthodontist in Sydney. They consist of a system of metal brackets fixed to the teeth by glue.
2. Ceramic braces
These are the next most common type of braces used. They offer a better aesthetic value compared to metal braces as they are not as visible. They are from composite materials that take on the natural color of teeth or are clear and therefore not easily visible. These braces cost more than metal braces.
3. Invisalign braces
These types of braces are almost invisible. They are from clear molds. They consist of alignment trays that are easily removable whenever the patient wants to brush or floss. They are more comfortable than any other type of braces. They also result in alignment of the teeth much faster than other types of braces.
4. Lingual braces
These types of braces are the same as traditional metal braces. However, their placement is behind the teeth. They are therefore not visible to anyone when you smile. They are therefore a great option for a low cost solution with good aesthetic value.
5. Clear braces
These are similar to metal braces. They combine clear braces with metal brackets. The fronts of the braces are clear and the backs are made of metal. Translucent brackets make up the front part. Metal brackets lie in the back and sides.
